Business Adviser – 12-month contract
Based: Flexible but core office Redcar
Salary £18,000 - £21,000 +Pension + 25 days holiday per annum

Enterprise Revolution CIC is a not for profit company working with local communities in the North East, we have worked with almost 10,000 individuals and have helped to start over 3,000 new businesses. We are a registered Enterprise Agency and part of the NEEAL group of agencies. We are passionate about enterprise, we can change not just lives, but develop long lasting impacts on families and communities and businesses. We are particularly focused on Redcar and Cleveland and have been part of the group tasked to help individuals made redundant from the Steel Work closure to start a new business and improve their life chances. To date we have helped created 250 new businesses, we want those businesses to succeed, to sustain and to grow.
To support with information, advice and guidance for the purpose of assisting clients set up and maintain their own sustainable SME business. To use your own experience of owning or running an SME to help Enterprise Revolution’s clients set-up and improve their own business and improve its performance by drawing up and agreeing with the client's appropriate strategies, business plans and action plans. To approve and sign off suitable business plans from clients for their own businesses and deem that they are viable and that the client has thought through the business proposition, strategies, finances and action plan etc. Help the client where external funding is available, to secure suitable loans or grants. To ensure the sustainability of the clients assigned to the advisor in their own business for a period of 24 months from the commencement of trading. To meet targets set in Enterprise Revolution’s delivery plan re Enterprise and SME Business Support across all contracts and new business development
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
The experience of running own business is preferable. Proven understanding of commercial business gained through either SME management or ownership, by senior line management in larger companies or having worked in a similar role is essential. Knowledge and understanding of business processes and strategy, market analysis, pricing, including Sales and Marketing, HR Management, Finance, Production (where applicable), ICT and Project Management, SME business culture and the motivations and aspirations of the owner-managers/directors. Project management, including setting and working to priorities and time planning accustomed to achieving targets. Supportive of Enterprise Revolution’s vision and lives the values of Self-starter and remote team player. An ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Must have a current driving licence and a car available for business use and be willing to travel.
